Four agents discuss, outline, write and edit, as far as you want them to: write yourself and use only the editing, image layout and pre-press, or let the book take shape chapter by chapter. At the end one click is enough: paperback and Kindle, checked for print, ready for Amazon. The process follows five steps: outline, discuss the chapters, write and edit, place real photos, and finally the finished Amazon package as a paperback (6×9″) and a Kindle EPUB. Scriba is meant for non-fiction of up to around 150 pages that lives on structure and photos from practice, with photos print-checked at 300 PPI and the data held on servers in Germany. Manuscript, photos and rights remain yours throughout, and you publish under your own name. The tool came about because we needed it for our own books, not in order to sell it. It is tried out every day on real books, with real photos and real print files.

From the idea
to the package.
Five steps, one browser tab. No Word, no typesetting software, no agency. You join in where you need help, and write yourself where you do it better.
The idea becomes an outline
You name the subject and the readership, and the structure agent drafts the chapter plan: titles, content, length. You reorder, cut, add. Then it begins.
Discuss first, then write
Before each chapter you can talk it through: where the emphasis lies, which example carries it, what should go. The agent knows the whole book as it does so. The conversation becomes a briefing it keeps to when writing.
You write. Or it writes.
Both work, also in turns. The writing agent works with the whole book as context, so that nothing is repeated and nothing contradicts itself. The editing agent revises on request, your own chapters included. Every version stays saved.
Real photos, set for print
Your photos from practice instead of invented images: the text marks its own image positions, you assign photos and crop them right in the browser. A traffic light shows whether the resolution is good enough for print.

Paperback as a print-ready PDF, Kindle as an EPUB, cover dimensions calculated from the actual page count, eight check criteria with a traffic light. Two packages, ready to upload.

Your pictures from practice make the book credible. Scriba helps with cropping and suggests captions. The decisions are yours.
The print chain is closed
Page count, spine width, cover dimensions, resolution: everything is connected and is calculated together. What the preview shows is what gets printed.
