Manuscript, photos and rights remain yours throughout, and you publish under your own name. The tool came about because we needed it for our own books, not in order to sell it. With Scriba, writing a book with AI does not mean pressing a button and getting 200 pages.
Scriba is an AI book writer for every kind of book: non-fiction, biography or novel, up to around 150 pages, written in German. For non-fiction, the research folder with documented facts and the image editing with your own photos from practice come on top. It is meant for people who have something to tell or to explain and want to decide for themselves what goes into the book.
Four agents help as far as you want them to. The structure agent drafts the chapter plan from the subject and the readership. Before each chapter you can talk it through, and the writing agent knows the whole book as it does so, so that nothing is repeated and nothing contradicts itself. The editing agent revises on request, your own chapters included. In practice that is the more common route: you write yourself and use only the editing, image layout and pre-press.
Where most tools fail is the stretch after the text: image position, cropping, resolution, layout, print file. With Scriba it is built through. Your photos are print-checked at 300 PPI, and at the end there is a print-ready paperback PDF (6×9″) and a Kindle EPUB, ready to upload.
